Could a gel made from your own blood help heal gums?
NCT ID NCT07363135
First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study tested whether placing a special gel made from the patient's own blood (albumin platelet-rich fibrin) into deep gum pockets after a standard deep cleaning helps gums heal better. 23 adults with advanced gum disease took part. One side of the mouth got the gel plus cleaning, the other side got cleaning alone. Researchers measured gum pocket depth, attachment levels, and growth factors over 6 months to see if the gel boosts healing.
