New mouthwash aims to help body 'Switch Off' gum disease

Summary
This small study is testing whether adding a special anti-inflammatory mouthwash to a deep cleaning treatment works better for advanced gum disease. Twenty participants with severe gum disease will receive the deep cleaning and be randomly assigned to use either the test mouthwash or a placebo rinse for six months. Researchers will measure gum healing and collect samples to understand how the combination treatment might improve recovery.
