Gum surgery gel trial aims to rebuild lost bone
NCT ID NCT07230522
Summary
This study tested whether a hyaluronic acid gel works as well as a standard protein gel when both are used with a bone graft material during gum surgery. The goal was to see which combination better reduces deep gum pockets, helps reattach gums to teeth, and regrows bone lost to severe gum disease. Seventeen adults with advanced gum disease underwent the specialized surgery and were followed to measure their healing.
