First seen Jan 19, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study looked at whether chewing gum or taking a short walk before a colonoscopy can improve how clean the bowel gets and how satisfied patients feel. 168 adults were split into three groups: standard prep, gum chewing, or walking. The goal is to find simple, drug-free ways to make colonoscopy prep more comfortable and effective, which could help catch colon cancer earlier.
