Could a blood pressure pill curb alcohol cravings?

Summary
This study is testing whether guanfacine, a medication used for high blood pressure and ADHD, can help adults with alcohol use disorder reduce their drinking. Researchers will give 160 participants either the real medication or a placebo pill for several weeks, combined with medical counseling. They want to see if the drug helps people drink less, especially when stressed, and if it works differently for women and men.
