First seen May 13, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This pilot study in rural Guinea-Bissau will test whether community health workers can prevent severe malnutrition by measuring children's arm growth every month and advising families on local nutritious foods. About 400 children aged 6 months to 5 years from two villages will take part. The study will also compare three ways to measure arm size to find the easiest and most reliable method for community workers to use.
