Writing away trauma: group therapy shows promise for teens with PTSD

Summary
This study tested a group writing therapy for Chinese teenagers with PTSD or complex PTSD. 53 teens were split into two groups: one received the writing therapy, the other waited. The therapy involved 5 to 8 group sessions where participants wrote about their trauma. Results showed that the writing group had fewer PTSD symptoms after treatment and at follow-up visits.
