Green tea mouthwash takes on plaque and gum disease in new study

NCT ID NCT07364565

First seen Jan 23, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study tests whether a pure green tea mouthwash can reduce dental plaque and gum inflammation better than a placebo or essential oils mouthwashes like Listerine. About 44 healthy adults will rinse with their assigned mouthwash twice daily for 3 weeks, avoiding all other oral hygiene. Researchers will measure plaque buildup, gum health, and how fresh participants feel their mouth is.
