Second chance: new treatment aims to rescue failed transplants
NCT ID NCT02161783
Summary
This study is testing a treatment for patients whose initial stem cell transplant failed, meaning their body did not accept the donor cells. The treatment uses a combination of chemotherapy drugs and low-dose radiation to prepare the body for a second transplant from a partially matched family donor. The main goal is to see if this approach helps the new donor cells successfully take hold and start working by day 42.
