New gel shot aims to knock out gout flare pain fast

Summary
This study tests two different doses of a gel medicine (Purified Cortrophin Gel) given as a single shot to adults having a sudden, painful gout flare. About 150 people will rate their pain over a week to see which dose works better and is safe. The goal is to quickly ease severe joint pain from gout.
