First seen Nov 17, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study looked at how the concentration (osmolality) of oral drinks affects the amount of output from an ileostomy over six hours. Fourteen adults with an ileostomy took part in a crossover trial where they tried different drink formulations. The goal was to find the optimal balance to help manage fluid loss and hydration.
