Could simple supplements ease a rare lung disease?

NCT ID NCT06959251

First seen Dec 08, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study tests whether daily supplements of glycine and magnesium+thiamine can reduce lung infections and improve breathing in people with primary ciliary dyskinesia (PCD), a rare condition that makes it hard to clear mucus from the lungs. About 60 participants aged 5 and older will take one of three supplement combinations or a placebo for 6 months. Researchers will track flare-ups, lung function, and quality of life to see if these nutrients offer a safe, supportive treatment.
