Can a simple supplement shield kids from Chemo's painful side effects?

NCT ID NCT07287592

Summary

This study is testing if glutamine, a common amino acid supplement, can prevent nerve damage (neuropathy) caused by the chemotherapy drug vincristine in children and teens with cancer. Researchers will give glutamine to some participants and compare their rates of nerve damage and need for chemotherapy dose changes to those who do not receive it. The goal is to see if this simple supplement can help patients complete their full, planned chemotherapy without painful side effects forcing them to stop early.
