Could popular Weight-Loss drugs also protect your kidneys?
NCT ID NCT07309094
Summary
This study is investigating whether GLP-1 receptor agonist medications (a class of drugs used for diabetes and weight loss) can help control chronic kidney disease (CKD) by improving unhealthy fat tissue. Researchers will enroll 250 adults with CKD, obesity, or type 2 diabetes to see if these drugs reduce harmful fat around organs and slow kidney damage. The goal is to better understand how treating 'sick fat' might protect the kidneys and heart in people with these related conditions.
