New combo therapy tested to slow down type 1 diabetes

NCT ID NCT06338553

Summary

This study is testing if adding a GLP-1 drug (semaglutide) to an existing immunotherapy (teplizumab) can better manage early Type 1 diabetes. Researchers want to see if this combination helps control blood sugar after meals, improves how the body uses insulin, and supports blood vessel health. The study involves 24 participants who will undergo meal tests and receive either the GLP-1 drug or a placebo to compare effects.
