New combo therapy aims to fight aggressive brain cancer

NCT ID NCT05083754

First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This early-stage trial tests whether adding the immunotherapy drug retifanlimab to standard treatments (carmustine wafers, radiation, and possibly temozolomide) is safe and helps people with newly diagnosed glioblastoma, an aggressive brain cancer. About 50 adults who have already had surgery and wafer placement will participate. The main goal is to check for side effects and find the best dose, not yet to prove a cure.
