First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study tests whether giving free reading and distance glasses to people aged 60 and older in Hyderabad, India, can slow down age-related memory and thinking decline. Over three years, 820 participants will be followed to see if correcting vision improves quality of life, reduces falls and depression, and boosts social activity. The goal is to find a simple, low-cost way to support brain health in older adults.
