Volleyball Players' hidden shoulder issue may impact performance

NCT ID NCT07372274

First seen Jan 28, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study looked at 52 male teen volleyball players (ages 14-18) without shoulder pain to see if a common condition called GIRD (loss of internal rotation in the dominant shoulder) is linked to poorer shoulder endurance and stability. Participants were split into two groups based on range-of-motion measurements, then tested with endurance and stability exercises. The goal was to understand if GIRD affects performance even when there is no pain.
