Leukemia drug repurposed to fight resistant lung cancer

NCT ID NCT06225427

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 17, 2026 · Updated 38 times

Summary

This early-phase trial tests gilteritinib, a drug already approved for leukemia, in 30 people with stage IV ALK-positive non-small cell lung cancer whose cancer has stopped responding to other treatments. The main goals are to find the safest dose and understand side effects. Researchers hope the drug can overcome resistance that often develops to standard ALK-targeted therapies.
