Scientists search for clues in blood of rare vascular disease patients

NCT ID NCT02857192

Summary

This study aimed to understand how a specific type of immune cell, called regulatory T cells, doesn't work properly in people with giant cell arteritis (Horton's disease). Researchers compared blood samples from 41 patients with the disease to samples from healthy people. The goal was to gather knowledge about the disease's cause to help scientists design better future treatments.
