Can sharing your daily life with your doctor improve pain care?

NCT ID NCT04560920

First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 24, 2026

Summary

This study looked at whether giving doctors information about what matters to older veterans with chronic pain—like their home life, medication storage, and support from family—could improve pain care. Researchers worked with 230 veterans aged 65 and older, their caregivers, and clinicians to develop a computer tool that collects and displays this patient-generated health data. They then tested whether using this tool during visits led to better patient satisfaction and adherence to pain care plans.
