New injection aims to stop C-Section wound infections

NCT ID NCT07311395

Summary

This study is testing if a small dose of antibiotic (gentamicin) injected directly into the surgical area can help prevent wound infections after a planned cesarean section. It will compare 100 women who get this local injection plus the standard IV antibiotic to those who get only the standard IV antibiotic. The goal is to see if the extra step is safe and reduces infections within 30 days after surgery.
