Free DNA tests offered to pancreatic tumor patients to uncover family risk
NCT ID NCT05746182
Summary
This study offers free genetic testing to people diagnosed with pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors to understand how often these cancers are linked to inherited gene changes. Researchers will test 300 patients at University of California hospitals to identify genetic patterns and learn why some people choose testing while others decline. The goal is to gather knowledge that could help families understand their cancer risk and improve future screening approaches.
