First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study aims to find genetic reasons why some people, especially younger adults with no other risk factors, develop severe listeriosis from contaminated food. Researchers will analyze DNA from 100 patients and their family members to identify mutations that increase susceptibility. The goal is to understand why certain individuals get very sick while others do not.
