First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study aims to find genes that may cause interstitial cystitis (also called bladder pain syndrome), a painful bladder condition with no known cause or cure. Researchers will collect blood or saliva from 1,000 people with the condition and their family members across North America. No travel to Boston is needed, and no treatment is given—the goal is simply to understand the genetic roots of the disease.
