Scientists hunt for genetic clues behind Tough-to-Treat childhood behaviors

NCT ID NCT07322055

First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study looks at how genes might affect behavior in 200 children aged 7-16 with disruptive behavior disorders like Conduct Disorder or Oppositional Defiant Disorder, some of whom also show callous-unemotional traits (e.g., lack of guilt). Researchers will compare genetic profiles with clinical data to better understand why some children develop more severe symptoms. No treatment is given; the goal is to improve knowledge for future risk identification and support strategies.
