NCT ID NCT07542223

First seen May 01, 2026 · Last updated Jun 17, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a person's genetic makeup influences how well a tooth infection heals after root canal treatment. Researchers will collect saliva samples from 96 adults with chronic apical periodontitis and analyze specific genes related to inflammation and bone repair. Participants receive standard root canal therapy and are followed for 12 months with X-rays and CT scans to measure healing. The goal is to understand why some people heal better than others and to pave the way for more personalized dental care.
