One-Shot gene therapy tested to halt blinding eye disease
NCT ID NCT05748873
Summary
This early-stage study is testing the safety of a single gene therapy injection, called SPVN06, for adults with an advanced form of retinitis pigmentosa caused by specific genetic mutations. The goal is to see if delivering a working copy of a gene directly to the retina can slow or stop further vision loss. Researchers will monitor participants closely for side effects and look for early signs that the treatment might help preserve vision.
