One-Shot gene therapy aims to halt blindness
NCT ID NCT05748873
Summary
This early-stage study is testing the safety of a single gene therapy injection, called SPVN06, for adults with an advanced form of retinitis pigmentosa caused by specific genetic mutations. The goal is to see if delivering a working gene directly to the retina can slow or stop the progression of vision loss. Researchers will monitor participants for up to five years to check for side effects and any early signs that the treatment helps preserve vision.
