Summary
This trial is testing a two-part treatment for an aggressive type of brain cancer called glioblastoma. First, doctors collect a patient's own blood stem cells and modify them with a protective gene. Then, they give the cells back to the patient so their bone marrow can withstand much higher, more effective doses of chemotherapy aimed at killing the remaining brain tumor cells.
