Experimental gene injection tested for rare blinding eye disease

NCT ID NCT07311863

Summary

This is a very early study to check if a single gene therapy injection (called UGX202) is safe for people with advanced retinitis pigmentosa (RP), a rare genetic eye disease that causes vision loss. The study will enroll about 6 adults who have extremely low vision to receive the injection and be monitored for a year. Researchers will also look for any early signs that the treatment might help improve or preserve vision.
