Gene shot tested to heal diabetic foot wounds
NCT ID NCT02563522
Summary
This study tested whether a new gene therapy, given as injections into the calf, could help heal long-lasting foot ulcers in people with diabetes and poor leg circulation. It compared the gene therapy plus standard wound care against a placebo injection plus standard care. The main goal was to see if more people's target wounds fully closed within four months.
