Summary
This study tested whether a gene therapy called VM202 could help heal chronic foot ulcers in people with diabetes and poor leg circulation. Participants received either the experimental injections or placebo shots in their calf muscles, along with standard wound care. The goal was to see if this approach could close stubborn wounds that hadn't healed for weeks or months.
