New gels battle dental implant infections in 9-Month trial
NCT ID NCT06083246
Summary
This study tested two different gels (Hybenix and Chlosite) as additional treatments for peri-implantitis, an infection that can occur around dental implants. Forty patients with this condition received a professional dental cleaning and were randomly assigned to receive one of the gels. Researchers measured signs of infection, inflammation, and bone loss over nine months to see which gel worked better at controlling the problem.
