First seen Feb 02, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study tests whether a special gelled water (GEL-AID) helps older adults in nursing homes drink more fluids and avoid dehydration. It also looks at whether it reduces urinary and respiratory infections. About 156 people aged 65 and older will take part, with one group getting usual care and the other getting GEL-AID instead of regular gelatin or thickened liquids.
