First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 29 times
Summary
This study will measure certain brain chemicals in 200 children, ages 1 to 3, before, during, and after hernia surgery. The goal is to see if changes in these chemicals can predict which children might experience confusion or long-term learning problems. Researchers will also compare two different types of anesthesia to see if one is safer for the developing brain.
