Which biopsy is better for stomach tumors? new study aims to find out

NCT ID NCT06748690

First seen Apr 18, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study compares two ways to take tissue samples from stomach tumors: a newer method called mucosal cutting biopsy (MCB) and the standard method using an ultrasound-guided needle (EUS-FNA). The goal is to see which method gives a more accurate diagnosis. About 96 adults with stomach tumors at least 15mm in size will take part. Results could help doctors choose the best biopsy technique for their patients.
