Study probes if underweight Kids' stomachs empty faster before surgery
NCT ID NCT06522204
Summary
This study aimed to understand if underweight children process clear fluids differently than healthy-weight children before surgery. Researchers compared how long it took for the stomachs of 60 children (ages 6-14) to empty after drinking a small, precise amount of sugar water. The goal was to gather data to help make preoperative fasting rules safer and more precise for all children.
