Tailored surgery aims to boost weight loss and reverse diabetes

NCT ID NCT06293703

Summary

This study is testing a new way to perform gastric bypass surgery for severe obesity. Researchers want to see if customizing the lengths of the intestinal limbs based on a patient's own anatomy leads to better weight loss and improved health—like reversing diabetes and high blood pressure—compared to the standard surgery with fixed lengths. The trial will follow 262 patients for up to five years after their surgery.
