Could flickering light help Parkinson's patients walk again?

NCT ID NCT06295458

First seen Mar 10, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study tests whether daily exposure to a flickering gamma light is safe and tolerable for people with Parkinson's disease who experience freezing of gait—a sudden feeling that their feet are glued to the floor. Twenty-four adults aged 50-80 will use the light at home for one hour each day over six months. Researchers will track side effects and check if the light reduces freezing episodes.
