Dental students play their way to knowledge in gamification showdown

NCT ID NCT07479342

First seen Apr 01, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study tested whether a board game could teach final-year dental students about orthodontic appliances better than a standard lecture. Fifty students were split into two groups: one played the game, the other attended a lecture. Their knowledge was measured with a test before, during, and after the session, and again one month later to check retention. The goal was to see if gamification makes learning more effective.
