Dental students play to learn: gamification beats lectures?

NCT ID NCT07479342

First seen Apr 01, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study tested whether a board game could teach final-year dental students about orthodontic appliances better than a standard lecture. Fifty students were split into two groups: one played the game, the other attended a lecture. Their knowledge was tested before, during, and after the session, and again one month later to check retention. The goal was to see if gamification leads to better learning and memory.
