One pill before surgery could cut pain after Weight-Loss operation
NCT ID NCT07169006
Summary
This study is testing if giving a single dose of the medication gabapentin before bariatric (weight-loss) surgery helps control pain better in the first day after the operation. Researchers will compare pain levels and the need for other painkillers between patients who receive gabapentin and those who receive a placebo. The goal is to find a simple way to improve recovery and comfort for people undergoing this common surgery.
