Numbing shot before shoulder procedure may ease pain and speed recovery

NCT ID NCT07380087

First seen Feb 02, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study tests if giving a numbing nerve block before a standard frozen shoulder treatment (hydrodistension) can reduce pain during the procedure and improve recovery. About 50 adults with frozen shoulder will be randomly assigned to receive either hydrodistension alone or a nerve block followed by hydrodistension. Researchers will measure pain, shoulder movement, and quality of life over 3 months to see if the nerve block makes the treatment more comfortable and effective.
