More frequent blood pressure checks during surgery could save kidneys
NCT ID NCT05993481
First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study looks at whether measuring blood pressure every 2.5 minutes during surgery, instead of the usual 5 minutes, can better detect low blood pressure. Low blood pressure during surgery is common and can lead to complications like kidney injury. The study will involve 640 adults having non-cardiac surgery and will also check if more frequent measurements cause any arm pain or nerve damage.
