Free sports for kids: does extra outreach get them moving?
NCT ID NCT05231837
Summary
This study tested whether offering free youth sports programs at neighborhood parks, combined with extra community outreach to families, could help low-income children get more active. Researchers compared two approaches across 20 parks: one with just free programs, and another that added intensive outreach to help families sign up. They followed 432 children for two years to see which method worked better at increasing exercise and reducing sitting time.
