Summary
This study is testing a short, easy-to-use frailty screening tool (mEFT) in 250 adults aged 70 and older who are about to have major elective surgery. The tool checks physical function, thinking ability, nutrition, and anemia in just a few minutes. Researchers want to see if a high score on this test can predict serious complications after surgery or readmission to the hospital within 90 days. If it works, this tool could help doctors better prepare patients for surgery and improve recovery.
