Bone break breakthrough: new care model aims to stop osteoporosis fractures
NCT ID NCT03178799
First seen May 19, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether a Fracture Liaison Service (FLS) — a team that provides education, medication management, and follow-up calls — can improve outcomes for people aged 50+ who have had a hip or spine fracture. 400 participants will be randomly assigned to either FLS or usual care and followed for up to 10 years. The goal is to see if FLS increases use of osteoporosis medications and reduces future falls and fractures.
