Asthma drug shows promise in slowing diabetic kidney damage

NCT ID NCT07022418

Summary

This study is testing if adding a drug called formoterol to standard care can help treat diabetic kidney disease. Formoterol is a medication commonly used for asthma, and early research suggests it may help protect kidney cells. The trial will enroll 120 adults with type 2 diabetes and kidney damage to see if the drug is safe, well-tolerated, and shows signs of slowing the disease over 36 weeks.
