Asthma drug shows promise in slowing diabetic kidney damage

NCT ID NCT07022418

Summary

This study is testing whether adding formoterol, a medication commonly used for asthma, to standard care can help people with diabetic kidney disease. About 120 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either formoterol plus their usual care or just their usual care alone for 36 weeks. The main goals are to see if the treatment is practical and safe, and to gather early evidence on whether it reduces protein in urine and slows the decline of kidney function.
